Grill on New York Street Networking

On the 8th September, our ambassador Colleen Quinn attended a networking event at the Grill on New York Street and shared her experience of childhood cancer with a variety of attendees.

The event, is part of a continued fundraising effort by the Tim Bacon Trust to raise enough money to fund 3 PHD Research projects to be named after Tim Bacon who sadly lost his battle with cancer in 2016.

Over 30 representatives from the top businesses in Manchester attended the event to network and enjoy great food. During the event they all took time to listen to our ambassador Colleen who at the age of 14 was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. After the aggressive treatment Colleen was left with life-long side effects including mobility issues, that even now at aged 30 still affect her day to day life.

After Colleen’s extremely powerful speech, everyone in the room dug deep raising over £380 on the day for Kidscan, alongside the amazing amount allocated to Kidscan from the Tim Bacon Foundation.

Kidscan would like to thank everyone who attended, and are very much looking forward to all of the fundraising events upcoming as part of the Tim Bacon Foundation.
