Tracy is Cycling the Alpe d'Huez Ascent!

KidsCan star supporter Tracy Griffiths is cycling the Alpe d'Huez assent in June to raise sponsorship for our research.

Tracy from Elianna said,

'Whilst riding to my first Sprint triathlon Win in Buxton in 2009 it occurred to me I could do something really mad cap for some greater good! And so the idea to ascend the 21 bends of Alpe d'Huez was born.

Having my 2 monkeys Elizabeth (6) and Annalisa (4) it had to be a charity involving children. Most recently a little girl Laura in Elizabeth’s year group has been diagnosed with Brain cancer - she has had a successful operation and is now having treatment.

The stats for getting cancer are pretty scary - 1 in 500 children will get it, and although recover rates are improving KidsCan are increasing the odds of all children surviving cancer.

So working with the great team at KidsCan the race is on!

Some facts for you......21 hairpins, each named after a rider in the Tour d'France, Just 13.8 km, An average 7.9 per cent, over 1,860 metres (6,102 ft) in height!

So come on a pick a hairpin and improve the chances of kids surviving cancer.'
