Volunteer

Children in a circle

No time to support KidsCan by organising your own fundraising activities at work, school, college, university or in your community? Why not come along to one of our events!.....

Become a Fundraising Volunteer

Join our team of fundraisers across the UK to help us raise vital funds to help change the lives of children with cancer. Fundraising can be a very rewarding experience. If you are a student or graduate, volunteering really stands out on your CV.

Whether it’s by organising your own event or collection, either on a one-off or long-term basis we need your help! We’re here to support you in what you decide to do by giving advice and providing all the fundraising materials you’ll need.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer who supports the fundraising team, there are lots of varied opportunities that may suit your skills.

KidsCan appreciates that everyone has a different amount of time to offer to the charity. Whether you’re an existing supporter or just keen to find out more, we're grateful for any help you can give.

You can help at a number of fundraising events.

• Music 4 Life – The Music Festival of the Summer (August Bank Holiday)
• Children’s Cancer Awareness Month (December)

The Box Project
For nearly two years, KidsCan has been placing its Purple Boxes in shops, pubs and any business that would have one, around Lancashire, Cheshire, Merseyside, Derbyshire and County Durham!
The aim of "The Box Project" is to have a reliable, constant stream of funding for the scientific work we have here at KidsCan.

During the year, students are not always available, and supporters are on their summer holidays, but our scientists keep working! And because they keep working, the funding cannot stop. This is why the box project is important.

We are looking for small teams of volunteers to "manage" the collection tins in their area. We are happy to announce that we have small dedicated teams in Southport, and Bishop Auckland, but we always need more!

Proposal writing
If you have a strong background as a bid/proposal writer there may be an opportunity to assist staff in making applications for grants from charitable trusts.

Photography
If you have a skill or interest in photography, there is an opportunity to attend fundraising events to take photographs for publicity purposes.

There are many other opportunities to help.
This is not an exhaustive list and there will be many more ways in which you can help. If you have any specific skills that you feel may be of interest to us, please do not hesitate to contact us at info@kidscan.org.uk
