Volunteer : Star Supporters
KidsCan values all the support it receives. Several of our supporters have gone above and beyond to raise thousands of pounds towards our vital research into childhood cancers.
Dave Moran – Local Milkman
Despite being up at the crack of dawn every day, Dave finds time to support KidsCan in every way possible. He takes part in the Great Manchester Run and KidsCan’s Annual Golf Day every year. Dave even finds time to help man our stall at Tatton Park Christmas Craft Fair. More importantly, Dave informs the people of Didsbury of KidsCan’s vital work and drums up fantastic support from the customers on his milk round. Dave has raised over £6,000 from taking part in events for KidsCan and an equal amount has been raised through his encouragement of others to take part in the Great Manchester Run.
Dr Phil Graham-Smith – University of Salford's Directorate of Sport
Dr Graham-Smith and the team at Directorate of Sport have raised over £6500 in the last 2 years by challenging themselves to the limit. They have cycled from Lands End to John O’Groats and more recently they swam 2008 lengths in the hope of raising £2008 for KidsCan’s research into childhood cancers.
Dave Giblin – Publican
Every August Bank Holiday, The Dog and Partridge in Oldham turns into the venue for Music 4 Life – The Music Festival of the Year. Dave and his team host a fun filled 12hr music festival which sees over 1000 people attend every year. Last year it raised a staggering £15,000 for KidsCan!
Chris Pinder – HD Cable
Chris Pinder chose KidsCan to be HD Cable’s Charity of the Year and introduced a limited edition purple cable to be sold during Children’s Cancer Awareness Month in December, with the cost of each cable sold coming to KidsCan. The support does not stop there. Chris and the team at HD Cable took on the challenge of running the Great Manchester Run in 2008 and have signed up again this year.
Walkden Congregational Church – Community Group
The members of Walkden Congregational Church hold several coffee mornings to raise money for KidsCan’s research into childhood cancers. They have raised over £6000 through donations and their support is ongoing.
KidsCan would like to thank all its supporters for their continued fundraising efforts. Without you we would not be able to continue our ground breaking research into childhood cancers.
